The starting point
Kungälvs Kött och Chark is a physical shop with a defined customer base: people who live in Kungälv, a town north of Gothenburg, and drive past. A website for a shop like that usually becomes a digital sign (name, address, opening hours) and then stands still.
The problem with that approach is that almost nobody searches for “kungälvs kött och chark”. People who already know the shop do not need a website. People who do not know it search for something else entirely: a meat box, a recipe, what to do with a pork knuckle. A sign-style site catches none of them.
What we did
We built the site in ten days, with two jobs to do at the same time.
The first was the shop: the products, the meat boxes, the opening hours and the way there, in a form you can read on a phone while queuing in traffic. That is the base, and it has to be there.
The second was the recipe library. A butcher has something to say about meat that no competitor can copy directly: how to cook a pork knuckle, what separates a good meat sauce from a mediocre one, what to do with pulled pork. Each recipe became its own page, written to answer the question directly in the first paragraph.
The logic is simple. Someone searching for “kamben i ugn” (oven-roasted pork knuckle) is not looking for a butcher at that moment. But they cook meat, they live somewhere, and the next time they buy meat they have seen the name.
What it delivered
Latest measurement in Google Search Console: 229% more clicks from Google from 30 June to 27 September 2026, compared with the 90 days before (1 April to 29 June).
Measured in Google Search Console, 16 May to 13 August 2026 (90 days):
- 1,115 clicks from Google on 51,544 impressions
- Average position 11.6, the strongest position among our client sites
- “köttlåda göteborg” (meat box Gothenburg) at position 2.4 with 62 clicks, and “köttlåda västra götaland” (meat box, the surrounding region) at 5.3
- The recipes rank high: “kamben i ugn” (oven-roasted pork knuckle) at position 1.5, “köttfärssås recept” (meat sauce recipe) at 3.1, and “pulled pork tacos” brought 13 clicks
The searches that bring the traffic
| Search | Position | Clicks |
|---|---|---|
| kungälvs kött och charkuterier (the shop’s name) | 1.0 | 88 |
| köttlåda göteborg (meat box Gothenburg) | 2.4 | 62 |
| pulled pork tacos | 17.0 | 13 |
| kamben i ugn (oven-roasted pork knuckle) | 1.5 | 11 |
| köttfärssås recept (meat sauce recipe) | 3.1 | 10 |
| köttlåda västra götaland (meat box, the region) | 5.3 | 10 |
The name search “kungälvs kött och charkuterier” brought 88 clicks from position 1.0. The rest, over a thousand clicks, came from people searching for a product or a recipe.
That confirms the assumption the build rested on: for a local shop, most of the search volume is not in the shop’s name but in what the shop knows.
